Prague Castle Circuits A, B, and C Explained
Three tickets cover three different sets of buildings. Here's what each circuit includes, what it costs, and where the courtyards are free.

Circuit A: the full castle experience
Circuit A is the comprehensive ticket, covering the paid section of St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, the "Story of Prague Castle" exhibition, St George's Basilica, Golden Lane with Daliborka Tower, Rosenberg Palace, and the Powder Tower (Mihulka). If you want to see everything the core castle circuits offer in one ticket, this is it. It's the most time-consuming option, so plan a half day if you want to move through it without rushing. Each building can be entered once, and the ticket stays valid across two consecutive days, so you can split the visit if needed.
Circuit B: the shorter version
Circuit B covers the same paid St Vitus section, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica, and Golden Lane with Daliborka Tower — essentially Circuit A minus Rosenberg Palace and the Powder Tower. It's the right choice if you're short on time or less interested in those two buildings, and it still gets you into the cathedral's paid interior along with the castle's other headline sites. Like Circuit A, it's valid across two consecutive days and allows one entry per building. Deciding between A and B really just comes down to whether those two extra buildings matter to you.
Circuit C: a different product entirely
Circuit C is not a shorter version of A or B, it's a separate ticket for a separate pair of sights: the "Treasure of St Vitus Cathedral" exhibition and the Picture Gallery. It does not include the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica, or Golden Lane, so don't buy it expecting access to those buildings. If your priority is the cathedral treasury and the castle's picture collection specifically, Circuit C covers that on its own; if you want the core historic buildings, you need Circuit A or B, and you can hold both ticket types on the same visit if you want everything covered.
What tickets cost — check before you buy
Pricing is where sources disagree, so treat any number here as a rough guide rather than a fixed price. As of the last check, Circuit A's basic adult admission was listed around 450 CZK by prague.eu, with Circuit B and C priced lower in other listings, but reduced, family, and child pricing varies between sources and isn't reliable enough to repeat here. Ticket prices at Prague Castle change, and different listings don't always agree even on the same circuit. Confirm the exact current price for your ticket type directly at hrad.cz, the official castle website, before you buy or budget for your visit.
Validity and where to buy
All three circuit tickets are valid across two consecutive days, and each included building can be entered once per ticket, so if you don't finish Circuit A in one day, you can return the next day on the same ticket. Tickets are sold online through Ticketportal and in person at three on-site ticket offices: in the second courtyard, the third courtyard, and at the Golden Lane entrance. Buying online in advance avoids the on-site queue, especially in peak season, but any of the three physical offices will sell you the same circuits if you'd rather decide once there.
The courtyards themselves are free
Whichever circuit you choose or skip, the castle grounds and courtyards don't require a ticket at all, entry to the site itself, including all three main courtyards, is free and open to the public. The paid circuits only cover specific named interiors: the cathedral's paid section, the palace, the basilica, Golden Lane, and the other buildings listed above. That means you can walk the grounds, see the exterior of St Vitus Cathedral, and get a feel for the castle without spending anything, then decide afterward whether a paid circuit is worth it for the interiors you actually want to see.
